Part 6 of the OMG Menopause at Work series — reframing menopause as a beginning, not an ending.
Here’s my favourite truth: the best years can come when we’re knee-deep in menopause. As far as I’m concerned, there’s no such thing as “post-menopause” — there’s only in menopause. And yes, we’ll be in it for the rest of our lives.
Yes, really.
The perimenopause years can feel rocky — your hormones have gone rogue after all. But the storm does calm. Many women say that once they’re through it, they feel clearer, lighter, and more confident than ever. I certainly do.
🌸 The First Generation Talking
We are the first generation of women to talk openly about menopause. To refuse silence. To say: this is not something to hide or be ashamed of.
That’s powerful. Because the conversations we’re having now will make it easier for our daughters, sons, partners, and colleagues to understand and support the next generation.
🌿 The Other Side
For most women, symptoms settle. Energy returns. Focus sharpens. There’s space for purpose again.
You’ve spent years juggling work, family, responsibilities. Now it’s time to channel that wisdom and energy into what’s next.
As anthropologist Margaret Mead said:
“There is no greater power in the world than the zest of a post-menopausal woman.”
I feel that in my bones. Don’t you?
💖 OMG Takeaway:
Not everyone gets to age — it’s a privilege. The goal isn’t just to age, but to age well. Embrace it with knowledge, confidence, and zest.
